Wine Glass

For this lesson we were learning how to use the spline tool. We were shown how to make a wine glass and we had to re-create it.

First thing I had to do was make sure I wasn't in perspective view but front view.

Once I was in front view, I clicked edit and configure. On the configure menu I went to the back tab and uploaded my picture of a wine glass.

I then clicked on the spline tool, I used the bezier spline tool, ad traced half of the wine glass, starting and ending on the centre line.

I used the lathe tool and made my spline the child of the lathe. This created the basic shape of a wine glass.

After the shape of the wine glass was made, I decided to go one step further and make the wine in the glass. to do this I went back to my front view and created a spline of the wine, similar to the way I made the glass. I used the lathe tool again and made the spline for the wine the child of the lathe.

For the textures, I used a wood, sky, reflective and glass texture. I added in a floor and a sky as well. In the reflective texture I made the rings 0% visibility.

I added the glass texture to the wine glass, the reflective texture to the wine, the wood to the floor and the sky to the sky.
